I believe that Gear Chronicle is quite broken and unfair/fun to play against. Before they were just annoying to play against when they were strictly return opponents rearguards to the deck but still quite possible to beat. Then Bushiroad added Time Leap which while can lead to unfair games and turns that take forever to finish; it was still possible to beat them. Then we got Zodiac Time Beasts, and Gear Groovy.

Well, I mean, I'm a huge fan of Gears. I think while they are really powerful, the Time Leap mechanic isn't as broken as people make it out to be. Sure it allows for massive pushes and over extension, but a lot of other decks can make huge pushes just as well.

But Gears have too much in terms of power. Gear Groovy can become both a Nextage or a Chronoscommand or a Demiurge and Metalica Phoenix. Nextage gives you a second Vanguard after it attacks, Time Leap is open to stupid power ups and broken combos which is why Tick Tock Worker got hit. Gears also tops so much in Japan just because they can Time Leap, and Bind like hell.
